View Full Version : Script or method to remove duplicate files MATCHING CASE

12th February 2008, 02:33 PM
I've got an issue with my music collection - due to the variety of music taggers/cover programs etc. I've tried, many of my folders have two or more album cover files.

The problem is that some are

and under linux that is fine (case sensitive). My Mac on the other hand is not...

So when I try to copy stuff over it breaks whenever it runs into a folder with both of above files present.

Can anyone help me figure out a way so that I can remove any such duplicates (i.e. if both files are present, delete Folder.jpg so only folder.jpg is left)

Much appreciated

There's a program called fdupes that will help you to do this.

su -
yum install fdupes
A backup may be a good idea! :D
