View Full Version : how to stop sleeping, suspension, standby?

hi, there
I have a c++ program that will run for days on fc7. I use

nohup sh ./test.sh &

However, I found the program suspended when the system went sleeping/suspension/standby. How can I let the program run forever? I comes up to my mind that I can do this by setting the sleeping/suspension/standby time to infinity. Please tell me how.

I went to System>Preference>System>Power Management Preference> and set sleep to never, it does not work. The box is a desktop. Thanks for help.

load or install the gconf-editor and take a look in the /apps/gnome-power-manager area. There are several options on timing and/or disabling various power manager options in there.
