View Full Version : nvidia 169.09 released (100% Fan Bug fixed)

hi everyone,

does anyone know when this will be available through livna, its really easy just doing this


su -c 'yum install kmod-nvidia'

but the version this downloads turns up the fan to 100% and it never changes.

I'm going to post here instead of making a new thread -- I just upgraded the kernel and now my nvidia.ko won't work. Do I wait around for Firewing1 too? I've heard there's numerous problems with installing the nvidia driver NOT with yum, so I want to do "yum update kmod-nvidia" and see it work, since without it my screen is super slow and choppy. How far behind the kernels do the nvidia updates lag? Am I better off booting into an older kernel for now?

For now I'm just booting into a lower kernel and keeping my fingers crossed that new kmod-nvidia packages are available soon. But in the off chance I figure something else out, sure thing, I'll post what worked.
