Hi everyone

I wanted to test Rawhide on one of my computers, and after updating some programs such as yum and python yum is not able to work. When I run yum I get the following error:

[root@localhost ~]# yum
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/_sqlitecache.so: undefined symbol: g_assertion_message_expr

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.5.1 (r251:54863, Jan 7 2008, 12:52:59)
[GCC 4.1.2 20071124 (Red Hat 4.1.2-36)]

If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to
the yum faq at:
http://wiki.linux.duke.edu/YumFaq

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Well Tuna,
I don't know if you have fixed the problem by now, but anyway seems there are many that face the same obstacle, so:
go to
1.http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/5337510/com/yum-metadata-parser-1.1.2-1.fc8.i386.rpm.html#content
and download the rpm (i assume you are up to date and use fc8(there are other packages there just try))
2.open it with archiver find and extract _sqlitecache.so
3. use the command (from the extraction point) #cp _sqlitecache.so /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/_sqlitecache.so
4...
