Well, the title says most of it. I used this tutorial: http://www.firewing1.com/content/view/64/36/

I'm running FC8

Output for:
glxinfo | grep direct
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual

Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".

Output for:
glxinfo | grep OpenGL
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual

Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".

Basically, I killed GLX....

Here is my xorg.conf file:

# Xorg configuration created by livna-config-display

Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Default Layout"
Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
EndSection

Section "Files"
ModulePath "/usr/lib/xorg/modules"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard0"
Driver "kbd"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "us+inet"
EndSection

Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "vesa"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Videocard0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Viewport 0 0
Depth 24
EndSubSection
EndSection

Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection

I meddled with the file (the livna version killed GUI, same with 169.07) and set vesa back to normal. But now GLX is gone.

Additional stuff:
When playing around with livna, 169.07 was not installed.
169.0 7 messed xorg.conf up to a state were the back up file didn't do anything. I had to re-install Fedora.

Hello:
Change

Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "vesa"
EndSection
to

Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "nvidia"
EndSection

And either restart your Xserver or reboot
