Hi All,

My PC w/ Fedora 8 (more accurately it is upgraded Fedora 7) goes down and reboots every 61-65 min without any visible reason in messages (e.g. before the restart there is a record 20 min. old or so in /var/log/messages).

How to investigate a reason of getting down, please?

Thank you so much...
Leos.

Try leaving top and iotop running and watch to see what process activates or is accessing the drive right before it reboots. My cron jobs usually start about 74 minutes after a startup, might be something funky starting in cron. Just a stab in the dark there.

But watching your processes might indicate what's causing it.

try to check your scheduled cron job by issuing

# crontab -l

and see what does it tells you.

you can read more of cron job scheduling here as well

Thank you mnisay, I did. But it said 'there is no crontab for root'.

Thank you all my dear. The problem was in the power block. Not in the great Fedora! :)))
