FC8 NW8240 RF Kill Switch Problem

I have just installed FC8 on my compaq NW8240 but cannot turn the RF_Kill switch on for the ipw2200 wlan interface.

Looked at many posts but nothing worked on FC8

Tried the RF Switch project as well but it didn't make correctly.

I had the wlan working on FC5 no problems.

Anyone solved this yet? I have noticed a bug posted about this in general.

I have a temp solution to get it working but long term control would be great.

I used windoz to turn the WLAN on and then go back into FC8 and everything is great. It was just luck that I have my FC5 dual boot install hard drive still available but that won't be for long.
