View Full Version : Sent Mail folder for Squirrelmail/Dovecot/Maildir

I had this set up successfully on an Ubuntu box using courier IMAP. I have installed Squirrelmail/Dovecot on a Fedora 7 box, and it all works except the mapping of .Sent and .Drafts. As stated in the subject, I use Maildirs. I want the Sent file to be Maildir/.Sent/, but apparently I don't have squirrelmail set up correctly. Mutt works fine using this in .muttrc:

set mbox_type=Maildir
set folder="~/Maildir"
mailboxes `echo -n "+ "; find ~/Maildir -type d -name ".*" -printf "+'%f' "`

I have added this to /etc/dovecot.conf:

mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir

I'm sure the configuration in squirrelmail is the problem but have tried everything I can come up with. Here are the relevant lines in /etc/squirrelmail/config.php:

$optional_delimiter = '.';
$encode_header_key = '';

$default_folder_prefix = '';
$trash_folder = 'Trash';
$sent_folder = 'Sent';
$draft_folder = 'Drafts';
$default_move_to_trash = true;

I am obviously missing something! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I guess it would help to know that the error message I get when I send an email or save a draft is:

ERROR : Bad or malformed request.
Server responded: {845} BAD Error in IMAP command : Unknown command.
