I just moved to Fedora, never used Linux before. I'm trying to install Compiz. I downloaded the latest version. what now? I've also extract it onto my desktop.

It's probably easier for you to use the version already in the Fedora repos. Open the 'Add/Remove Software' in your menu and search for Compiz.

Also, look through the 'How-to articles' section of the forum and previous posts, there's a lot of info already 'out there' (tm)

I've merged your two threads as they really are on the same topic and you prolly didn't install some things like the compiz-manager, which would have created a menu entry.

Edit: Sometimes you have to log-out of the desktop and back-in for items to show up in the menus.
