Well I wanted to install Eclipse, all of it, with the plugins. I wanted to try it for programming on c/c++.
Ok here's the code:

repo id repo name status
InstallMedia Fedora 8 enabled
development Fedora - Development enabled
fedora Fedora 8 - i386 enabled
livna Livna for Fedora Core 8 - i386 - Base enabled
updates Fedora 8 - i386 - Updates enabled

yum-3.2.8-2.fc9

Thanks for the attention ;)

Ok you will need to disable the development repo or you will end up running F9 Rawhide

su
gedit /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-development.repo

and change

Wasted, try disabling the development repo, either with yum, yum --disablerepo=fedora-developement install eclipse or by editing /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-development.repo and changing the line that reads enabled=1 to read enabled=0.

Edit: I see Leigh beat me to the punch :)

It should be

yum --disablerepo=development install eclipse

But this will still leave the development repo active and the next update could advance him to Rawhide ( F9 )

P.S Is your spell check working :)

The computer's spell check is working fine. The one on top of my shoulders has many glitches  Consider the fact the I also wrote editing /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-development.repo. Must be too early in the morning for me. Your suggestion of disabling the repo entirely is clearly the better choice.

Thank you alot guys ^^

I have another question, since it's regarded about eclipse, might as well ask this: I installed it fine thanks to you, i also installed the c/c++ plugin, but where do I compile it? I always get the "launch failed no binaries found" error. What should I do?
