Ok.. This is really weird.. I got an Lattitude D520 that I run linux on.. Last night I reinstalled FC7, use clocksource=apci_pm to boot up the C2D.. Updated everything including latest kernel.. Now when you shutdown the system.. The screen goes blank and thats it.. It won't show the shutdown termination log as its closing out processes.. However it use to do this before I tested F8.. Except after about a minute or two it would turn the system off.. Not its like the thing hangs and really isn't shutting down..

Anyone know why?

i sometimes have the same thing, what i do is ctrl+alt+f2 to go to tty2 and login as root there and type reboot (or init 0 for shutdown) you can also use shutdown but that requires a switch to work which annoys me :p
