I am trying to install Fedora 8 64 bit on hp tx 1000 notebook having AMD Turion 64 bit dual proccessor. The installation went fine. When it reboots for the first time after installation (at that time it asks for the timezone etc.), it freezes when it goes to "Hardware Profile" section. I can not boot the system at all. Can anyone please help.

I'd suggest to turn the wirelless off to test if it will boot.

Right now I'm not using any kernel boot option and everything is working fine.
I'm experiencing freezes sometimes but I coundn't yet figure out what may be causing it.

Since the 2.6.23.1 kernels came by (in either Fedora 7 or 8), I have been having occasional crashes on boot and have lost my previously stable suspend/resume. It almost never booted at all before I added the kernel parameter clocksource=acpi_pm, but that did not resolve the above mentioned problems. Anyway, try that and see if it helps.
