I've just do a fresh install of Fedora 8 over the fedora 7 installation. When booting it gives me a kernel panic:

Kernel panic - no syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)

After searching a lot in Google and in other forums I did not found nothing that could help me.

Could it be possible that the kernel have no support for LVM???
