Assalamu Alaikum dear friends, i m given an assignment to configure ldap server and client in fedora.
first i got
"fedora-ds-1.0.4-1.FC6.i386.opt.rpm"
and ran it using
"rpm -Uvh fedora-ds-1.0.4-1.FC6.i386.opt.rpm" command and then ran
"cd /opt/fedora-ds ; ./setup/setup"
command and it asked for a lot of things like domain name and administrator name and ports etc. then i ran command
./startconsole
it gave me an error.somebody asked me to instal jdk then i got
"jdk-1_5_0_12-linux-i586-rpm"
and installed it using
"chmod a+x jdk-1_5_0_12-linux-i586-rpm
and
./jdk-1_5_0_12-linux-i586-rpm
and
cd /etc/alternatives
and then
ln -fs /usr/java/jdk-1_5_0_12/bin/java java
commands then again i run
./startconsole
and it says that
no java programme found in path or no java to execute

now somebody please help me k what should i do now
