View Full Version : F8 Install Freeze "Starting install process."...

I'm doing a network boot from a windows xp machine with tftpd. The install freezes at "Starting install process. This may take several minutes..."

It successfully loaded the image from the server on the first page.. the stage2 install stuff... within a minute or so... What would be making it hang? It eventually times out with an error retrieving the ftp package.. but the connection just worked.

Tried this twice now, and network install is my only option :-/

Anyone have any idea on this? I'm currently installing Ubuntu with no problems using the same steps as I did for Fedora, except it works... I really like Fedora but it doesn't install.

It hangs on installing/downloading packages.. from a network boot, it's like after it gets into the installer, checks dependencies, then it hangs... sigh
