I have F7 with all updates installed and UbuntuStudio sharing the same /home partition.
At login I get tis error>

Users .dmrc file should be owned by user and have 644 permissions.
users /home dir should be owned by user and must not be readable by anyone else.
default session and settings cannot be saved etc.

I made sure that both distros have the same user name/groups and is is ID of 1000
and I did a chown and chmod 644 to the .dmcr file.
but when I restart it gives me the same error again!!

and am now wondering about the default /home permissions (ie.> 755 , 700 etc.)
or... do I need to cofig the /etc/skel file or something else??

Did you "chmod og-r /home/username" to make the home dir unreadable by others ?
Why did you chown .dmrc ? Was it not the right user ??

Is the home directory (listed in /etc/passwd) for same for both distros ?

the permissions seem fine for the /home/user
I only did a chmod for the .dmrc because according to the error message the permissions needed to be changed to 644 .
it does seem that both distros have identical etc/passwd entries for my user.
