Hi all

i tried almost everything, i just don't know where to bash my head next.

My cd/dvd burner used to work on this FC7 box. Last time i used it i'm sure was at the beginning of august. I didn't burn for a long period, and now, whenever i launch K3B or Brasero, the pc will freeze for 4-5 secs and then silently reboot. Redirecting the output to a file did nothing, and the logs won't show anything.

i'm on 2.6.21 vanilla kernel. I tried even the FC7 kernel, but same issue, tried yum update and crossed my finger, still no luck.

The burner works flawlessy with other linux distros on the same box.

Any ideas?

The only thing that comes to mind is check the updates between the last time you burned something and today. If it's not the kernel, maybe some other "crucial" package is at fault. Also check in bugzilla for similar problem related to your specific hardware.

the weird thing is that between the 2 burning, i did no updates. I did a yum update *after*, hoping that it would fix the problem, but no go :(
