After installing Screenlets I was trying to load up the manager, but got this error.

[mike@shatter ~]$ screenlets-manager
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/local/share/screenlets-manager/screenlets-manager.py", line 23, in <module>
import screenlets
ImportError: No module named screenlets

Does anyone have any ideas what I may have missed?

I have exactly the same error msg. Running a F8 with fglrx/compiz-fusion

Anyone know how-to run screenlets properly? Really miss SuperKaramba in KDE.

I downloaded screenlets, extracted the tar.gz and read the README, and did as it said. This is what i got:

[Delta@localhost ~]$ su

[root@localhost Delta]# cd /home/Delta/Desktop/screenlets-0.0.7/
[root@localhost screenlets-0.0.7]# make menu
make: *** No rule to make target `menu'. Stop.
[root@localhost screenlets-0.0.7]# python setup.py install
running install
error: invalid Python installation: unable to open /usr/lib/python2.5/config/Makefile (No such file or directory)
[root@localhost screenlets-0.0.7]# make install
python setup.py install
running install

Why not search the forum and use the RPM that a user (or two now) has made?

I'm not familiar with the software, but is there perhaps a configure script in the folder, seems like the Makefiles are missing.

try running ./configure

I think it was jdeslip, but my spelling may be wrong, just do a search for 'screenlets rpm'

i have the same problem

File "/usr/share/screenlets-manager/screenlets-manager.py", line 31, in <module>
import screenlets
File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/screenlets/__init__.py", line 36, in <module>
import rsvg
ImportError: No module named rsvg

I have the librsvg2-devel package installed too. i was reading about this problem and it asked to install gnome-python-desktop which i have gnome-python2-desktop installed so i assumed this is the latest version and i also couldn't find gnome-python-desktop for fedora 9
does anybody have any clue ( i am kind of hinting leigh123@linux, your instruction are life saving)

Try the compiz-fusion repo for screenlets
