Hi,

I'm trying to use Network Manager for Wi-fi. Both services are running but the applet is not appearing in the main task bar at the top. I can't seem to find any answer as to why as according to the Network Manager website it should appear automatically.

Any help greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Dan

Click on the panel, and select "add to panel" scroll down the list and select "notification area"

Sounds stupid, but have you got the "Notification Area" applet in your panel?

Edit: whoops mike beat me to it :)

Thanks guys, all sorted, another quick question, does Fedora support WPA2?

Yes, I believe that the FC7 version of wpa_supplicant does have support for WPA2

Will that be by default? Or do I need to install wpa_supplicant?

Thanks,

Dan

Hmmm... I can't remember whether it is installed as a dependency of NetworkManager - I presume it is, but it can't hurt to do this...

yum install wpa_supplicant

If your running Fedora 7 it is included. Just use NetworkManager and left click the icon and select "connect to other wireless network" and fill in the blanks, there is a drop down that includes wpa2
