This morning when I started Swiftfox a pop-up box appeared for my user name and password for www.nvu.com. Now, I haven't got a password for that site, have not visited it for so long I don't remember when and haven't got NVU (Well, I have Kompozer) on my system. I cleared my cache and stuff but it still appears after a few minutes.

Do you have a FF extension wanting to check for updates? Or is Komposer looking for updates?

The 'Check for updates' is activated for Swiftfox and is greyed out so can't change it, but don't see how this is connected with Nvu

OK. I've found it. When Swiftfox starts it always opens my four main tabs, one of them being my homepage. At the bottom I've put a 'Made with Nvu' button linked to their homepage. Don't understand why it's trying to go there though? the Nvu page seems to have been taken down/changed.

Edit: Now I do:

<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.nvu.com"><img alt="Document made with Nvu" src="http://www.nvu.com/images/madewithNvu80x15clear.png" border="0"></a><br></div>

Ah! Ok. If it was a link from them, was it set to ping a hit counter?

Found it Dan, see my edit.

Thanks.

That's the last time I use a link promoting the stuff I'm using.... except Fedora :)

Hee hee hee!

I'll plug Fedora, OpenOffice, Firefox and the GIMP. Not much else!

Well, hopefully they'll be around in the future. Looks like Nvu is dead in the water.
