Ok, so after getting everything to my liking, I turned off the automatic updates after the first big one when I first booted up...

I've read a few times that constantly updating can really screw up your applications. I guess if you use 3rd party repos or something?

anyway, I use Livna and Didlier plus the built in Fedora ones...I still want to keep up with the security i guess, but I don't want to mess with my applications if it's gonna break them.

3 questions..

1) how do you update just security in the terminal--I can't tell what's what from the update manger.

2)do your applications (ex. Amarok/limewire/Firefox) need updating?

3)When a more stable release of enlightenment comes, can I just update it or do i have to remove all the packages over and re-install?

2. Only for the same reasons others would.

3. Check with the enlightenent org web site about updating.

4. No Kernel update - see man yum.conf
