Hello folks!

I was trying to make room on my hard drive and thought the TMP folder should be safe (I have lived in a Windows world until recently). The folder still exists but, I wiped out most of the files.

Currently, I'm getting a greeter crashed error. Ok I was stupid!

Is there anyway to recover from this mistake?

Thanks in advance!
Cory

Try booting in single user mode: type "a" when grub offers the boot menu and then "e" to edit the boot command line and add "1" at the end of the line before booting. You will get a command line. From there give the commands:

cd /
mkdir tmp
chmod a+rwxt tmp

Then reboot and see if that has fixed it.

ok..well, I think I've taken a step backwards probably and still don't know all of the consequences but, before your reply, I booted from the Fedora 7 disk and installed as a "upgrade".

At least it boots now.. Not sure what I have lost

Thanks Again!
