Hello all, I'm trying to setup a "delayed" startup shell script that will delay the execution of a couple programs by a few seconds so that they wont crash....

Beryl crashes them.

Basically, it would look something like this.

#!/bin/sh
beryl-manager
sleep 8
gdesklets start
sleep 8
avant-window-manager

Essentially, if they all execute together, gdesklets and awn will crash... However, when delayed they work just fine.

So I created an ~/.eyecandy.sh file and added it in startup tab in the session preferences, yet it wont execute for some reason.... Can anyone help?

Have you tried starting them by adding it to sessions, you shouldnt need to do any scripts, it worked fine for me in fc and f7.

I know its not needed, but if gdesklets/beryl start at the same time, gdesklets crashes and beryl starts. If I wait till the desktop is completely loaded, then gdesklets runs fine. I don't know why this happens and I hate having to load gdesklets/awn manually after login.
