Hello, I have installed Fedora 7 from live CD. The Resolution of the desktop is so high that my monitor doesn't support or may be vga card but anyway i changed the resolution to 800x600 But each time I shut down my pc and boot again the resolution returns to its original high one. How can i make my change permanent

The X configuration file is in /etc/X11/xorg.conf

you must be root to change this file. Edit the file with kwrite. If you see the content, some section will be somethin like:

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Videocard0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Viewport 0 0
Depth 24
Modes "800x600" "640x480"
EndSubSection
EndSection

Add the bold line, save the changes and restart the computer.

It appears you are booting GUI login screen. configuring from KDE/GENOME

boot in to console login init=3
code
#setup

Xconfiguration and configure your resolution
