chmod 755 yourfile.bin
./yourfile.bin

Are you sure there's not a rpm for this?

If you are usung kde or gnome, right click on the .bin icon, select properties and the click on "is Executable" and then in Ok.

You can then double click to execite or better yet, open a terminal, go to dir where .bin is and type:

./xxxxxxx.bin

replace xxxxxxx acordingly

I don't think .bin files need to be installed if thats all it came with. If its just the binary alone, you should be able to just launch it either thru the terminal, or by making it executable and just launching it with a dbl click.

I normally use

chmod +x yourfile.bin

to make it executable

i managed to do it with

chmod 755 yourfile.bin
./yourfile.bin

thanks!

But if you know a different/simpler way might as well post so people can search and find out :)
