linux equivalent of belarc advisor

belarc advisor on windows pulls together and displays a lot of system hardware and software information. i haven't been able to find anything similar for linux; anyone know of something?

alternatively, what linux commands do people use when they want to find out cpu speed, or installed memory size and characteristics, or such like?
