View Full Version : kde firefox crashes on fedora 7 ):

20th August 2007, 10:00 AM
I am trying to run fedora 7 on my laptop Toshiba P 100 - 194. I did the latest updates but parts of KDE and firefox keep on crashing (Segmentation fault)

yum -y update
Loading "protectbase" plugin
Setting up Update Process
71 packages excluded due to repository protections
No Packages marked for Update/Obsoletion

Booting: I have to reboot at least 5 times until it boots full into KDE.
By killing the Xserver and its restart sometimes the login screen application fails to start
after a successfully reboot parts of KDE keep on crashing randomly
firefox crashes incessantly especially with sites containing tons of flash media

I installed the newest version of firefox version using a tarball into my homedirectory,it still crashes but less often as the one included with fedora 7.
When the version crashes,it makes a segmentation fault in line 131 inside the firefox.sh script.
Other applications won't even come up like the KSysGuard.

uname -a
Linux nikkisixx.localdomain #1 SMP Fri Jul 27 18:10:34 EDT 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

How can I stabilize the system? Please leave me some ideas!!
