I just built a computer for the first time and when I go into BIOS to check the CPU temperature, it is at ~75 C and the system temperature is 37 C. I was alarmed by this so I download and configured lm_sensors and it gave my CPU temperature at 47 C and my system temperature at 32 C.
My question is, how reliable is lm_sensors?

Check your post in the hardware section, and before a mod tells you, don't cross post.

I monitor mine all the time and it seems to be pretty close. 47 C sounds normal.

CPU:
I have one at work that typically gets runs 50+ C. I also have a computer at home that generally runs a little about 40 C.
