Hi all,

I have vmware server 1.0.3 running on my Fedora 7 install. It has no problems creating new clients. I've installed a new XP client under it.

I thought I new how to clone on of these clients. Their made in their own subdirectory in the vmware directory. So I just created a new subdirectory with a little bit different name and copied over all the files in the origional directory into the new named directory.

Then I changed the names of all the files I had just copied into the new named directory so that they also would share the new name.

Like this

The origional vm client that I created under vmware was called newmachine-a. When I look in the /vmware directory I see:

/vmware/newmachine-a
/newmachine-a/machine-a-file1
/newmachine-a/machine-a-file2
/newmachine-a/machine-a-file3
/newmachine-a/machine-a-file4

To clone this I created/copied:

/vmware/newmachine-b
/newmachine-b/machine-b-file1
/newmachine-b/machine-b-file2
/newmachine-b/machine-b-file3
/newmachine-b/machine-b-file4

I then started up vmware server. Low and behold, it only see's newmachine-a. Anyone got any great insight as to how I can clone a working vmware client?
