I'm trying to follow the instructions in this thread http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=152871 Unfortunately, when I try to run yum install cabextract I get the following output

[root@localhost Desktop]# yum install cabextract
Loading "installonlyn" plugin

I should also mention that this is a brand new F7 install. I'm new to the world of Fedora. My previous experience is largely with Ubuntu and Debian (as well as some Suse and Mandriva). Anyway, does anyone have suggestions how to get this up and working?
On another note, the command ifconfig is coming up as unrecognized. Any ideas there too?

Hello:

It is always possible that the server is too busy or temporarily down. Try to open that website address by entering: http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=fedora-7&arch=i386
in your web browser's address bar. You should get a text page listing the F7-i386 mirror site addresses. If you can open the page from your browser, then it's not down - but you may have to wait until later when it's not so busy. It's also a good idea to first execute "yum clean all" if you're having these kinds of problems.

You can get the rpm directly from here
http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=cabextract&submit=Search+...

Thanks for the advice. I had already tried checking the site in firefox, so I'll need to try running that clean command. I'll also try out that other form of ifconfig. Thanks for all the help guys.

Okay, I got cabextract installed, but I keep getting this output when I try to install ndiswrapper. What does it mean when yum closes with "Nothing to do"?

[root@localhost charlie]# yum install ndiswrapper
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Install Process
Parsing package install arguments
Nothing to do

Hi

Try running the following from the command line as root to see if ndiswrapper is already installed

whereis ndiswrapper

It usually means that the package is already installed

What does yum list ndiswrapper output?

Hello:

ndiswrapper is not available from Fedora. You must get it from a 3rd-party repo like livna.rpms. See http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-f7.html#yum to install/setup the livna repo, then try again.

EDIT: "nothing to do" can also mean that the package you specified does not exist.
