Hi Guys

I have ZGV-5.9.tar.gz which is a program to display images in your terminal.

First I un zip it

but when I run "./config.mk" I get "-bash: ./config.mk: Permission denied"

I have no ieda why, I am logged in as root

HELP!!

Hello:
Try
chmod +rwx ZGV-5.9.tar.gz

then give it a whirl again.

try


tar xvpzf ZGV-5.9.tar.gz
cd to the file
chmod +x config.mk
./config.mk

tar xvpfj ZGV-5.9.tar.gz
cd to the file
chmod +x config.mk
./config.mktar xvpzf ZGV-5.9.tar.gz

tar xvpjf ZGV-5.9.tar.bz2 -- ( j is for .bz2 / z is for .gz / put the f right before the filename)

oops :) ( I miss read the file type )


xvpfz will still work though

You could just try running "make" and if it doesn't throw any errors then as root run "make install".

I have tried that but I get a few errors, I think I will just use FBI instead

thansk for all your help. onyl thing now is figuring outhow to set the frame buffer
