Hello,

after i have changed my partition table ,i am getting this message
at the beginning of booting :--

cannot access resume device LABEL=swap-sda10

after changing the partition table i had to reinstall grub in rescue mode
i also edited my grub.conf file and also the /etc/fstab file to include the
proper partition numbers. My machine seems to work alright after the message .

i would like to understand the above message and how to remove it because
after my initial install it was not appearing.

Cheers !!

My basic config is

AMD64X2 3800+ , ASUS M2NMX , 1GB DDR2 ram, 160 GB Seagete SATA drive.
fedora 7_2.6.21-1.3228 dual boot with Win_xpsp2

Have a look at bill_f's replies here http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=111565&highlight=resume+swap+device - fixed it for me... and taught me quite a bit more how Linux works!

I just found out the solution: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=569074

it works for me. I think mine is the problem with swap labelling.
Just rename it. and everything restored to normal.

Yeah, that'll work (and be much easier!) - if you can change the label to of your current swap partition to that of the old one then Linux will find the swap file when looking for the label.
