hey all im new to fedora and the Linux stuff and i just wanted to know if any one knew of a better packet manager for fedora, i really dont like the one that is installed by default!

? Packet manager ? Do you mean PACKAGE manager ?

Yum, Pirut, kpackage ... I' m sure there are others.
Still these are all based on rpm and use the same repositories.

Also kyum (for KDE) and yumex; these plus yum, pirut, kpackage, pup, etc. are all front-end/GUIs for yum and/or rpm; personally, I prefer smart package manager, but I don't use it by default because: a) almost all the repositories must be configured by hand; b) smart does no logging whatsoever of it's actions; and c) you must be extra careful not to execute it concurrently with any of the others (especially if you use auto-updates) or it will corrupt you rpm databases.
