Hey to All,
In Fedora 7, I am new to Linux. I got my wireless NIC working. It only took two weeks.
Had to switch from 64bit to 32 bit F7 in order to get windows drivers to work.

Anyway, the purpose of setting this all up in Linux is the L.A.M.P. Server.

I downloaded Apache 2.2.4 and PHP 5.2.3 and installed. However, I have two PHP directories and two Apache directories in the /usr/local/lib/
with PHP and PHP-5.2.3 with apache2 and httpd-2.2.4.

This is not such a problem except there are two full installs in both of the directories of PHP and Apache.

So when I edit the php.ini there are two different ones and to edit the httpd.conf same thing with two different ones.

I have set this up in WinXP and have no problems but as I said I am new to Linux, so this setup is new to me as well.

This seems alittle confusing. Is there anyone out there using LAMP and understands what I have done as a newbie in this area?
I appreciate any intelligent responses.
Blessings,
Chetanji

Default package installation uses /usr/lib/php /usr/include/php and /usr/share/php so looks like you built the server and php from source. It then becomes your problem to uninstall previous version, or to ensure that new version uses same file layout than previous one.
