Hello---I am having another problem that I hope someone can help me with. I have FC7 just installed. I have been able to get my modem to successfully function when logged in as root, but I can't get it to work when logged in as myself. What am I missing here?

Thanks---

Add your regular user to the group uucp using system-config-users (System -> Administration -> Users and Groups). This should do the trick (maybe you need to logout and login back).

OK---now I can't get the modem to work as root or myself. Always says in Gnome PPP modem not detected. The modem is a Zoom and linux compatible. Hardware profile shows a modem controller (VIA). In smolt the modem shows up. What must I do to get this thing working?

By the way, I tried the uucp suggestion without result. Thanks anyway.

After some more fooling around, I got FC 6 to find the modem when logged in as root. But I cannot find it when logged in as myself. I added myself to the uucp as suggested above, but it still will not work. I would greatly apreciate some suggestions.
