I have livna enabled I installed xine-lib-extras-nonfree and gstreamer-plugins-bad (and ugly)

I can play MP3 files in both Banshee and Gxine (xine) but
I can't play wma files in banshee or gxine
I've never had this issue before and I looked over the many Fedora multimedia guides but I can't figure out what I'm missing

so what else should i try to get wma to work?

I play my wma files with xmms but you could convert them to mp3
http://forum.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=145289&highlight=wma+mp3
then use something like gnormalize to convert to ogg if you want

Well I know I don't have to.
Three days ago when I was using Fedora 6 I was playing mp3, and wma in xine and banshee

I think i need another library from livna or something but I just can't recall

well i'm one step closer .. I got xine to play wma, now to figure out banshee (gstreamer)
what i did was remove just about all audio codecs, and only using livna repo, i installed codecs.
I didn't remember it being this difficult with FC 4 5 or 6

hmm i may have another task .. once i get gstreamer working with wma
ill hopefully be able to get rid of xine and banshee and use
Songbird
http://www.songbirdnest.com/

it looks pretty cool and its like windows media player. check it out.

ok i got both banshee (gstreamer) and xine playing wma and mp3

basically I did the following:
yum remove *gstreamer*

yum remove *xine*

make sure livna is enabled

DISABLE FRESHRPMS !

yum install gxine xine-lib xine-lib-extras-nonfree

yum install gstreamer-plugins-ffmpeg gstreamer-plugins-good gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-plugins-ugly

that should do it for you

if not, run pirut and search xine, install plugins i may have forgotten
also search for gstreamer and make sure all plugins are installed

as for songbird, it uses gstreamer so all i have to do is compile it or just figure out how to tell the binary release i downloaded where gstreamer plugins are
