I found something yesterday that told me how to check a downloaded iso with a sha1 sum (ie fedora 7). I can't find it now. Can someone please tell me, link for me, or whatever, how to check my downloaded iso with the sha1? Thanks.

To check the SHA
sha1sum filename
i.e
sha1sum F-7-i386-DVD.iso

Or
sha1sum --check SHA1SUM
Fedora-7-KDE-Live-i686.iso: OK
sha1sum: Fedora-7-Live-i686.iso: No such file or directory
Fedora-7-Live-i686.iso: FAILED open or read
sha1sum: WARNING: 1 of 2 listed files could not be read
This checks all files listed in the SHA1SUM and either reports OK or not if they exist or tells you they aren't there otherwise.

I tend to go with this approach, beats comparing numbers by eye any day
