Dear friends,

May I know from you where to download OpenGL for fedora core 5 as this is needed by GRASS 6.2 software.

Thanks for any suggestion.

FC5 includes an OpenGL compatible graphics library called Mesa (http://www.mesa3d.org/). It's already installed if you have graphical desktop running on your system. See the Fedora FAQ (http://www.fedorafaq.org/) for instructions to get 3D hardware acceleration working on nVidia or ATI graphics cards.
To compile programs that use OpenGL you must install the appropriate -devel packages, e.g mesa-libGL-devel.

thanks markkuk

i tried to search the hasdware for the mesa files but when i clicked the add/remove software button for fedora core 5, there was an error message that it can't retrieve information. prior to this i erased previous installation of grass GIS using rpm -e --nodeps command hoping that the files that i previously installed are the only ones that will be affected. i erased them because it did'nt quite work and i would like to try binary installation instead of the rpm packages.

how could i bring back the add/remove feature of the system.

thanks again
