View Full Version : two kernels in grub!!!

Hi all!!I am new in this forum and to linux generally.
So i need some help here.Yesterday finally i installed linux dual boot(windows) and i did the packet update.So when i reboot the system i saw two entries in grub.


kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.20-1.2948.fc6 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet
initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.20-1.2948.fc6.img
kai:
title Fedora Core (2.6.18-1.2798.fc6)
root (hd1,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet
initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6.img.
Ti prepei na kanw?Malon katevase kainourgio kernel?

My question is what should i do and what is all this about?

Its normal ( when you updated you got a updated kernel ) do nothing .


you should see my grub.conf

My question is what should i do and what is all this about?

It means that you can boot off kernel 2.6.18 or 2.6.20. When you update, it leaves an old kernel on the system just in case you don't like the new kernel.

just realize that i commented a few line, about the old kernel version.
