I'd do an install of Fedora7 or at least Fedora6 instead. Fedora 5 is at "life's end": http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=154343

It'll probably bork your system. It's on record in the forum that the devs do not recommend that approach when going from 6 to 7 but to do a clean install.

Well, the word I keep seeing is 'clean' but we'd all like to know if it's possible. There are a lot of changes between 6 and 7 hence the recommendation. Me, I wouldn't chance having to do it twice.
