I am Linux Noob. Is there any way to reduce icon spacing in Gnome, so that I dont have to scroll too much?
How do i change the system fonts? I downloaded some fonts. How do i make them appear in those list of fonts?

Hello:
Fedora Desktop User Guide (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Docs/DesktopUserGuide)

Should get you started.

Open Nautilus (File Browser) and select 'Edit > Preferences' On the first page (Views) you can reduce the Default Zoom Level, have text beside icons or compact layout. I don't know if this will help you.

Edit: On my 19" LCD I have the default zoom level at 100% (default) but on my other machine with a 15" LCD it looks better at 75%.

Maybe even finding a different icon set might help:

See, we were getting along so well then you had to go and say a dirty word :(

Best thing you can do for your Gnome desktop is dump it! Get XFCE. :)

No, I'm not a troll, just opinionated. ;)

Yes, I have them installed here. If you do a search for 'vista fonts' in the forum I posted a link to a link :D just create a folder as root called maybe '/usr/share/fonts/vista' and throw them in there and run fc-cache (again as root)

I guess... I could wear a Fedora....

Would that count ? :D

@veagles

Don't mind JN4 and XFCE is alright but it's just a stripped down/less nice/geekier Gnome so... :p
