Hello all - I need some help installing additional codecs for k3b. I am trying to make an audio cd but it keeps saying that the format is unsupported. I tried to install the additional package, k3b-extras.i386, and although I can see it when I do a search yum search k3b*, I cannot install it. The only message I get is

"nothing to do"

I do have install plugin enabled but when I disable it I get the same results, which is not the results I am looking for. I need k3b to be able to burn mp3s to audio.

RELP ME!

:confused:

hi,
with the livna repositry enabled, do a
yum install k3b-extras-nonfree

I cannot install it. The only message I get is "nothing to do"
maybe you have it already installed, just try a
yum list k3b\*
the package should be under "Installed Packages"

Or it's possible you don't have the livna repository set up:

gedit /etc/yum.repos.d/livna.repo

Paste the following information:

[livna]
name=Livna for Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Base
baseurl=
http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/$releasever/$basearch/
http://livna.cat.pdx.edu/fedora/$releasever/$basearch/
http://wftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/livna/fedora/$releasever/$basearch/
http://ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/rpm.livna.org/fedora/$releasever/$basearch/
failovermethod=priority
#mirrorlist=http://rpm.livna.org/mirrorlist-5
enabled=0
gpgcheck=1

then do:

yum -enablerepo livna install k3b-extras-nonfree

same crap

[root@IMGENSRV1]# yum --enablerepo livna install k3b.extras
Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Parsing package install arguments
Nothing to do

this is the output. I don't understand. Perhaps it is installed already but why won't it recognize mp3 file format?

Thanks for your help

as i stated in my second post, i guess you've already installed k3b-extras please type

yum list k3b\* to verify this (k3b-extras is from extras repositry; livna is not needed there)
but as scotta3234 and i wrote you have to install k3b-extras-nonfree from livna to be able to handle mp3's in k3b
so please type this at root:

yum -enablerepo livna install k3b-extras-nonfree
