i was downloading a series of podcasts using the latest version from yum "1.10.2" of wget with the "-c" continue command. When i killed the shell that contained the running wget and loaded a new one, putting in the same command "wget - c file1 file2 file3 file4..." wget started to download from file1 again even though 1-3 were already done. Why is this so?

try

wget -nc file1 file2 file3 file4

-nc
--no-clobber
If a file is downloaded more than once in the same directory,
Wgetís behavior depends on a few options, including -nc. In cer‐
tain cases, the local file will be clobbered, or overwritten, upon
repeated download. In other cases it will be preserved.

this does pick up the fact that its already downloaded but then doesnt move onto the next file but instead gives me a message of "Aborted".
