Good afternoon, gentlemen (and ladies).

Having failed miserably at borking my primary system with LG3D, and having run elive consistently on the laptop for a month or so (as an HDD install), I'm quite ready to try E17 on the big box.

So ...

I have located the following, and it seems to be the best route to go.

E17 RPM (http://sps.nus.edu.sg/~didierbe/)

My questions are these.

1) Has anyone had trouble with this repository and/or the install therefrom?

2) Who already runs E17 on FC6, and what kind of luck have you had with it?

3) Does this install bork anything else?

That about covers it.

Thanks guys (and gals)

Dan

I had tried to build E17 but ran into problems and kind of gave up on it for a while but I was able to get E16 going. I will check that E17rpm and see what I can bugger up here. :)

OK, just finished installing E17 on FC6 and it was relatively painless aside from the Fedora repos showing errors. I just disabled the offending repos from within yumex selected Enlightenment and Enlightenment developement.

Will have to see/learn how to theme and decorate this desktop, right now it is fairly plain and simple.

Got everything installed from Didier's repo and hasn't broken anything that I know of: http://sps.nus.edu.sg/~didierbe/

Word of the wise: When installing custom animated .edj icons or wallpapers (animated) go ahead and make yourself an e17 directory in your home folder and dump all that stuff in there when you download it (like themes, etc.). That way when you add icons to the panel you don't accidentally move those files around otherwise you'll have a panel with no icons.

They've sure come a long way since the last time I used it...
