Hello All,

I would like to use the madwifi driver with a cisco a-b-g pcmcia card that i have.

The Madwifi site (http://madwifi.org/wiki/UserDocs/FirstTimeHowTo) has a link that details the install for a fedora machine, but i've received an error and don't know what my next step should be...

-here is where I'm at now. using kernel 2.6.20-1.2944, I've download the source files and extracted them to my root directory.

when I attempt to run the make script my machine encounters an error:

[root@operationcanada madwifi-0.9.3]# make
/bin/sh: line 0: cd: /lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2944.fc6/build: No such file or directory
Makefile.inc:66: *** /lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2944.fc6/build is missing, please set KERNELPATH. Stop.

*somthing else that I kindly ask you is; why didn't i have to run the ./configure script prior to running the "make" script???

Many thanks for all help.

have you installed the kernel-devel

su -
yum install kernel-devel

not all sources need to be configured

thanks for your help, and yes I did install the kernel-devel, when installing the drivers for my internal wireless nic.
