Hi,

When the final release of Fedora 7 comes out, I have 9 computers that I want to switch from FC5 to F7. Does anyone know a streamlined way to do this, where I don't have to go in and select all the packages etc. for each PC. (These are not identical PCs)

Thanks!

You can't select packages on an upgrade. It just upgrades anything it finds.

Also, forget about doing a yum update from 5 to 7, the devs don't even recommend it from 6 to 7!

Everyone prefers fresh installs nowadays.

Just backup /var /etc /home on another PC.
Printout chkconfig --list
I assumed everything was installed thru yum.

When F7 is running, installed everything that is on from chkconfig, manaully copy/paste your configs and test each one.

Then copy over whatever you need in /var and /home.

Do a fresh install on one machine then use kickstart to do the same for the others ??
