Hello,

how do I perform a disk / file system integrity check for Fedora Core 6? Thanks in advance for any answers.

man fsck should point you in the right direction

On startup the system checks integrity. But yeah: fsckl.< filesystem type> <device> works, eg fsck.reiserfs /dev/hda. Watch out if you are going to check a LVM device that you put the LV name of that device, eg fsck.reiserfs /dev/LVM/vol00
