Hi,

I am using FC6 on a Dell E1505 laptop that also has Windows XP. Grub is configured to wait for 5 seconds before booting the default OS which is XP. On FC6, hibernate and sleep works well. But when I hibernate the machine and start it again, I am not shown the choice of OS to boot. It simply boots into Linux (FC6) and resume where I hibernated it earlier. Not a major issue, but it is inconvenient to shutdown FC6 whenever I need to boot into XP.

Any clues or suggestions?

Thanks,
Hilbert

You don't want to boot into another OS when you hibernate. The reason is that if you share a common partition between the two OS's the file table for the shared drive will be corrupted. If you don't share any partitions between the two then you can override the default behavior to boot into the other OS. I don't know how to do that with Fc6. I used mathiashenslers swsuspend2 kernels and they provided the option at reboot. But it did not let you do it without some load warning messages.
