View Full Version : Fedors Core 2 - Package Manager

I am having a problem with the Add/Remove Applications - Package Manager in Fedora Core 2. Usually when I try to install packages I get an error box saying that certain packages aren't installed and need to be before continuing. When I try to install these packages with yum, it tells me that they are installed and are the most up to date versions. If I get lucky and there are no imagined dependencies, when it asks for the disk I get an error box saying that it cannot read the disk. Upgrading to a newer version of Fedora is not an option. I tried to install Fedora Core 6 and the installation couldn't read my sata drives. Not only that but this is for my class project and iwe are presenting it next week on Thursday so I don't have much time to mess around. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

FC2 package manager was broken, that's why it was removed and replaced with pirut in later Fedora versions. Use yum and forget about the GUI package manager.
