Hi all

Anyone know if it is possible to get mp3s to play using a player like Kaffeine or Amarok - I installed Realplayer 10 and can actually play them, however realplayer does not allow you to have a library.

Tried everything from installing xine libraries etc etc - am I right in thinking that it is not possible to use mp3 with these players. Do you convert files to another format to get them to work with linux?

Many thanks

Robert

http://www.fedorafaq.org/

that's the link. Also... if you want to use amarok you will switch to xine engine after you install mp3 support.

rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-6.rpm <--to install the Livna repo
yum install amarok-extras-nonfree -y

You might also like AmarokFS

yum install amarokFS -y

right click on the track that's playing to launch it.

And by read the FAQ he means the link at the top of this page, you'll find a lot of useful info there.
